The 2020 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intellectual Property Exchange Expo is held online from November 13 to November 19. Meanwhile, the Intellectual Property Exchange Expo will update the real-time preparations, agenda arrangement, guests, organization lineup, news reports, highlights collection and other online exciting content of the forefront of the Expo in real-time.

As of November 15, the current Expo has been held for three days. The “Intellectual Property Feast” has continued to heat up and the climax continues: Intellectual property trade exhibitions are active in business negotiations and frequent transactions; the Bay Area Forum leaders gather to spark speculation; special events are in full swing, and its popularity is booming. What’s more, it is noteworthy that, as the current Expo is all held online, there are high-end forums during the day and auctions at night. From morning to night, the excitement continues, and it truly realizes the characteristics of “all-network all-the-time”. 

In terms of forums, the “Intellectual Property City-Intellectual Property Operation and High-Quality Development Forum”, “Intellectual Property Application and Protection Reform Experimental Summit”, “Intellectual Property Financial Innovation Forum”, and “Geographical Indication Trade Summit Forum” have been held in the past three days.

At the “Intellectual Property City-Intellectual Property Operation and High-Quality Development Forum” held on the 13th, many experts and scholars discussed, shared their views and experience regarding “Exploration and Experience Sharing of Intellectual Property Securitization”, “Exploration and Thinking of University Intellectual Property Operation Center”; as well as the current hot topics in the field of intellectual property operations and development, such as “Biomedical Intellectual Property Operation in the Era of Epidemics”. At the “Intellectual Property Application and Protection Reform Experimental Summit Forum” held on the 14th, Mr. Wu Handong, the former president of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, made a presentation entitled “Knowledge under the General Development Plan of Sino-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City (2020-2035)” “Property Development Opportunities” keynote speech. In addition, many intellectual property experts in China and abroad provided suggestions for the Guangzhou Development Zone to build a global intellectual property highland. At the “Intellectual Property Financial Innovation Forum” held on the same day, around the theme of intellectual property securitization, many experts and scholars from the National Patent Navigation Project (Enterprise) Research and Promotion Center, Changjiang Securities (Shanghai) Asset Management Co., Ltd. made wonderful speeches.

On the afternoon of November 15, the fourth of the Bay Area Forum of the 2020 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Intellectual Property Trade Expo-“Geographical Indications Trade Summit Forum” was held simultaneously online and offline at the Intellectual Property Financial Service Center of Guangzhou Development Zone and the 2020 China Intellectual Online Platform. More than ten relevant leaders and speakers from the field of geographical indications are divided into Chinese and international special sessions, focusing on geographical indication trade, discussing how to give full play to the unique advantages of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, attract and gather high-quality resources at home and abroad, and build a vibrant geographical indication trade market which has promoted China’s geographical indication products to go global. The forum also launched the first Eastern and Western Geographical Indication Product Procurement Summit, held a signing ceremony for the procurement of Geographical Indication products, and facilitated a batch of outstanding geographical indication product transactions.

A total of fifteen special events have been set up in this year’s Expo. The special events that have been held are wonderful and fascinating. On the evening of the 13th, the special theme event of China International Trade Fair-“Innovator Talk” was held as scheduled. A number of corporate intellectual property leaders met in the live broadcast room to share their respective corporate innovation stories with intellectual property rights and technological innovation as the core.

The special event on November 14 has both modern and latest industry themes as well as traditional and time-honored intellectual property themes. At the “Artificial Intelligence and Big Data Industry” project roadshow event, a number of people who are in charge of intellectual property service organizations visited the live broadcast room, conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as the cultivation and transformation of high-value patents in the artificial intelligence big data industry, and shared their respective project experience as well as the results. At the “Quality Dongguan Intellectual Property Direct Selling Night”, a large number of “traditional cuisines” appeared in the live broadcast room and served a delicious feast. A number of relevant persons in charge of Dongguan time-honored brands assisted in the live broadcast room, conducted in-depth discussions on topics such as how to cultivate food brands with the help of intellectual property rights, and displayed a large number of traditional cuisines and traditional snack foods.

The “Special Event for Intellectual Property Transaction Operations” held online on November 15 was attended by a number of intellectual property service organizations, industry associations, investment and financing institutions, and scientific and technological innovation enterprises. The construction project of a satellite navigation chip high-value patent cultivation center, and the automobile boom forging die additive manufacturing wire projects, high-end laser and intelligent laser medical equipment projects, non-contact remote vital signs monitoring and precise chronic disease management and control projects have all appeared, and the “cloud” interaction has been launched, attracted the focus of many investors.

Promoting intellectual property transactions is an important mission of the Expo. As of the opening ceremony, the total number of exhibitors has exceeded 2,400, including exhibitors from more than 30 countries such as the United Kingdom, France, and Russia. More than 16,000 exhibits have been uploaded, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, geographical indication products, etc. In the “Online Auction Event” carried out by Zhuhai Huafa Auction Co., Ltd. and Guangdong Gaohang Intellectual Property Operation Co., Ltd., a total of seven companies from Guangdong Province participated in the bidding of nine intellectual property packages, and the whole auction of the total turnover of the meeting reached 29.7 million yuan.
