After graduating from Sun Yat-sen University with a bachelor’s degree in bioengineering in 1999, Ms. Xu continued to obtain her doctorate degree from Wuhan University in the field of Cell and Molecular Biology, and performed her doctoral research on protein structure and dynamics on proteins relating to immuno-inflammatory diseases. In 2002, Ms. Xu qualified as a Chinese patent attorney, and continued to pass the National Unified Legal Professional Qualification Examination at the later stage.
Prior to joining Chuanmo, being as a technical director and patent consulter in a Korean biotechnology company, Ms. Xu conducted research characterizing single cells in microfluidic devices as well as antibody selection and protein display technologies, assisting more than 10 of these projects getting granted as patents.
Currently Ms. Xu focuses her practice on Chinese and foreign patent prosecution, opinion work, and offers assistance in the areas of chemicals, diagnostics, therapeutics, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and the life sciences, including but not limited to conditions relating to cancer, diabetes, neurodegeneration, infectious diseases, and technologies relating to solvent chemistry, stem cell biology, gene therapy, genomics and proteomics, RNA interference, antisense, protein therapeutics, antibodies, vaccines, small molecule therapeutics, and carbohydrate chemistry.
Being a patent attorney for over 20 years, Ms. Xu has provided services to clients such as Kangtai BioKangtai, Pfizer Inc., and Sinopharm Weiqida Pharmaceutical, etc. , and won plenty of praise not only because of her professional and experienced performance, but also due to her advise provided from the point of view as being an entrepreneur.
